The drum and barrell pumps made by Savino Barbera are available in several materials (PP, PVDF, AISI 316 and 304) and with two different motors (electrical or pneumatic).

Corrosion resistant materials

The materials used to build FUS and TR drum pumps are: PP, PVDF, AISI 316 and AISI 304. The material for each pump is selected based on the specific operating conditions and according to the chemical compatibility with the corrosive liquids to be transferred:

  • Impeller: PFTE, ECTFE.
  • Bushings: PTFE, Ceramic.
  • Tube: PP, PVDF, AISI 316, AISI 304.

When to use drum pumps

Compatibly with the chemical resistance of the materials, our drum and barrel pumps are ideal for transferring low viscosity corrosive fluids without solids. Instead, they are not suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres and for pumping flammable liquids. These types of pumps are perfect for uses in several industrial fields as the galvanic, tanning and petrochemical industries, as well as the distribution of chemical products. However, they are also widely used for quick pumping operations, for transferring smaller quantities of acids and for emergency uses.
FUS and TR drum pumps are available with a single-phase electric motor (for intermittent services and short-term operations) and with a pneumatic motor (which, instead, allows a continuous and intensive use of the pump). In particular, Savino Barbera’s transfer pumps are suitable for:


  • for emptying drums, barrels, small tanks, canisters or other containers.
  • for transferring chemicals contained in most commonly used drums.
  • for pumping chemical products at ambient temperature.
  • for handling liquids with a maximum specific gravity of 1.800 kg/m³.
  • for pumping liquids with a maximum viscosity of 14 cps (FUS Series).
  • for transferring liquids with a maximum viscosity of 600 cps (TR PNEU Series).
  • for transferring liquids with a maximum viscosity of 900 cps (TR MONO Series).
