Identifying the right characteristics for a pump and verifying its performance are necessary conditions for offering a qualified product. These evaluations, made based on the specificity of the final application, are now guaranteed by the new test bench for performing functional testing and inspections in accordance with ISO 9906:1999. Tests are performed with flow rates up to 400 m?/h (more than 6600 [l/min]:) and pressures up to 16 bars (160 m w.c.), with the possibility of using an inverter and motors powered with up to 500 Volt and 125 A at 50 or 60 Hz. The specific operating schedule, in addition to the characteristic curves for comparison with the theoretical or contract data, also produces data and curves relative to the NPSHR.

Thanks to a careful technological improvement program, Savino Barbera centrifugal pumps may be now be provided with special o-rings coated with PFA or FEP (materials with lower permeability to liquids and gases than other fluoroplastics) to improve the protection for the mechanical seal.
